Travelling while pregnant

Travel for pregnant women will not cause miscarriage, premature birth, or other complications, it's just uncomfortable and scary when away from home when you are pregnant. There are some conditions for pregnant women to travel long distances :

  • During healthy pregnancy, no risk and were not in the third trimester, pregnant women can travel far.
  • Ideal pregnancy to travel far is second trimester, since first-trimester risk of miscarriage, while the third-trimester risk of preterm delivery.
  • Pregnant women should travel with a comfortable vehicle, fast latency, and its route is not too complicated. This is to prevent the occurrence of complications or exposed to clotting of veins from sitting too long.
  • Third trimester pregnant women should avoid altitude of 8200 feet due to changes in air pressure would be at risk of bleeding, miscarriage, and premature births.
For pregnant women who travel long distances, can do little things as the following :
  • Check pregnancy and consult your obstetrician before travel
  • Never go alone. Make sure there is an accompanying family because pregnant women would need help, ranging from lifting the bags, go to the toilet until the leg cramps.
  • Wear comfortable clothing and made to absorb the sweat for the convenience of pregnant women. Wear low-heeled shoes as well or flat to avoid falls or sprained foot
  • Do not travel with an empty stomach, what more if you're experiencing "morning sickness".
  • Bring some snacks to prevent nausea. Because during pregnancy you never know when you are hungry.
  • Bring everything you need in one small bag so it will be easy to take it when you need it.
So during pregnancy, you still can travel, during your pregnancy is healthy and normal.
